Postcards from France

Greetings from Grez-Sur-Loing! Rooftops gather the sunlight that is still quite strong in October. The first photo is from Paris and the second Marseille. I will spend November in our little village waiting for christmas holiday in Finland. The leaves have started to fall but considering how cold the spring was it is nice to have a warm autumn. Mostly I'm spending time in our studio working on some photos or in the forest walking. I'm happy about the light that lets me still make new photos and videos which is so exceptional to me in November.

grey skies turn to clear nights

In Île-de-France it has also been raining, but quickly it turns back to this. I forgot how good cold feels. People come around the lake to feed the swans, usually with big dogs that run around free. Today I saw an old couple who drove their car to the beach and pulled out a bag of baguettes.

Autumn arriving

One of the most amazing things in the area of Île-de-France is this unbelievably luminous autumn light.. I might spend some days with my camera now. I came to Paris first in 2010 autumn as an exchange student.. Then I spent months wondering about this light. Today was the first cold day of autumn after a season of hot hot Indian summer. Cold day was followed by this view.

Kuopio love

In the summer I sometimes do some wedding photography. This wedding was wonderful, at my hometown Kuopio.

Comment il a changé

Looking at the same views in Marseille where Cézanne used to paint, something has obviously changed since he was around. Cables, ports with big ships and electricity towers rule the paysage more than cliffs, sea and sun.
